12 Steps to simplify identifying 

Guidelines

When identifying your unique pipe needs, there are a number of questions you can ask yourself to simplify the process. Keep the following information on hand if you are talking to your pipe supplier about your project:

1. What is the intended primary use? Read our irrigation pipeline design guidelines if you intend to use your pipe for irrigation. HDPE can be used in a wide variety of applications - will it suit your application?

2. What is the intended amount of litres, pumped per hour?

3. What are the pump specifications? This should be available through the pump manufacturers website.

4. If a borehole is used, how deep is the said borehole?

5. How do you intend to connect the pipes with the pump? 

6. What is the irrigation pressure?

7. Do you have a design/layout?

8. What is the head height difference?

9. What temperature will the system experience?

10. What will the total pressure on the system be?

11. Consider the environment of the pipes intended use. More about Polyethylene considerations.

12. Consider the ground layout of the area/layout of piping system.
